Cattle Development
 
The Primary objective under cattle development programme under Department in Arunachal Pradesh is to upgrade the local indigenous animals through cross breeding programme to increase the productivity of the local animal for milk production. The state Government have no as such normal schemes however the cattle development is carried out through Central Sponsored Schemes under National Programme on Cattle and Buffalo Breeding (NPCBB) and Intensive Diary Development Programme (IDDP). The implementation of the cattle development scheme is carried out through
  • 120 cattle upgrading centres (CUC);
  • 1 Key Village program with 30 key village sub centre and
  • 11 District Cattle Breeding Farms.
  • IDDP project in East Siang, West Siang and Papum-pare districts.
The cross breeding programme is done through A.I. wit HS/ Jersey FS straws free of cost. The Liquid Nitrogen is provided from the following:
  • Liquid Nitrogen Production Centre, Nirjuli, Papum-pare District
  • Liquid Nitrogen Production Centre, Dirang, West Kameng District.
  • Liquid Nitrogen Production Centre Pasighat, East Siang District.
  • Liquid Nitrogen Production Tezu, Lohit District (under constn.)
